To me the new world looks very inspiring, maybe "hard", but in a good way. Like level2 from the previous one that was just a never-ending series of pools between little hills.

KoKoon, you ever consider a Bukkit server?

Its pretty cool to add RPG elements like Leveling weapons and crafting. It makes everything you do just a little bit extra rewarding and pays off in the end.

If you need more detail I'd be more than happy to provide.

Is it just that you prefer all natur-el?

That looks fantastic. It also proves there were plenty of unexplored areas on the old map that could have been explored after 1.8 came out.

People didn't really push for a new map to make your life miserable, it was to start fresh for people that didn't have a chance last time... People liked the seed and the same comments you mention about unexplored land apply to this world as well. Personally I think it should have been the first random seed, but this one is fun. Only the people that haven't even got ashore yet are complaining. So people have started to build and now have a weeks build time invested in it which is more investment than a few stuck up complaints. I doubt peoples creations will start out as epic pieces of modern "engineering" quite so quick. More than likely people will make a base to start while material is collected and areas explored, players interacted with (in a non butt hurt/friendly manner) etc... and then we can make some epic mega serious life threatening pieces of important lego artwork........... I'm just happy to play with a few people, so cobble me up and call me Gregory.

there's one island with 5 people, one island with 3+ people (think it's 4) and two or three islands with a pair of people. it's only really kaini who's truly alone as it stands at the moment. (and even then people visit often).

ps it's been like what, 5 days? people won't have cobbled together megaliths quite yet. i'm working on something fairly large scale and i'm sure others are too.

another point to make is that pete and adam are working on a wicked rail system to link islands together so soon it's take mere moments get around.

I know what you're talking about, and yes, it is not attractive, but you do realize the map has been up for less than a week, and not all of us can dedicate 5 hours a day to this right? Trust me, that shit WILL come down, and eventually look nice. I'm just sticking up for whoever built it. After all, all he wanted was to safely climb a mountain quickly. Chill out brah.

Most of what I wanted to say already has been, but I like that people have split up. I had a quick look around at people's stuff a few days ago, and I'll probably be surprised at what I find on my next trip around in another few. I built a house to get me going again, now I've started working on a small themed project a little while away. Hopefully it will be interesting enough that people may want to build around in a similar style and improve upon, like kaini's idea for the npc village, once they've finished the things they've been itching to make. I will post a couple of screenshots later.

I was unsure of the seed, but I've travelled more and found the things I wanted, that exist in 1.8 that is.

The FACT is, if we stayed on the old map, no one would be playing on the server anymore. End of.

This. I don't think interest in this map will last. I'd log on to CV1 just to take a couple of laps around the city when I was bored.

Like I've said before I feel really disconnected from everyone else. I realize that we can just use portals to get from place to place, but that IS different. Kind of like CV1 and CV2, I could go to either in an instant, but it still seemed disconnected.

Ideally, we should have a main city, and then all of our own shit later. Cities make businesses like Pete's Bone and Arrow shop, my Bakery, and Kaini's Adult Bookstore. Plus the Plaza's/Fountains we built as a public square setting. Cities give us inspiration to build cool shit, and not tired architecture like Lumpenprol was going on about.

That makes no sense also as there is still no limited un-explored land with the new world :) I was just getting at the fact that we can all start again together from the same point (i.e.- level 0) Rather than some (like me) who joined when the majority of the last map was already built and there were only two people online and not much going on. Would you rather be one of the founders of a great nation or the guy that moves into the crappy suburbs?? I have seen more people in the last week while playing than I ever did on the old world. The time you guys invested in it is a bit lost, which sucks, but that will no doubt happen to this new world when version 18.2 comes out in 2017.

I miss CV1. I should have built my hotel there.
