this unfortunately tries to capitalize on the infamy of emanuelle by name only; instead it's a campy attempt at a new age musical: think tommy but with unnecessary (or compulsory) nudity.

Cheap as fuck Mad Max rip-off, filmed in a quarry with what looks like leftover Jawa costumes

Did anyone see the new Alien - Romulus yet?

I'm debating if I should see it big screen before it's too late or just wait for it to come out streaming.

I personally loved Prometheus and Covenant, and the old ones as well.

So is it worth it to spend the money and time for the theater?

Just wanted to follow up on this - I did eventually see it in the theater.

Pretty fun romp.  Was worth seeing it there.  BUT, I didn't like it as much as I liked Prometheus or Covenant.  Purely because it didn't have all the lore, ancient alien, history, etc.  Was just a very direct space horror flick.

It was fun watching my girlfriend get grossed out and have some jump scare moments too, haha.

Arcadian was better than I expected.  Didn't reinvent the wheel or anything, but still a good watch.

yeah it's mostly why I put it on that list...

quite surprising...

What the fuck. Last night I tried to watch Boss Level. After what felt like the 12th repeat of the same sequence of the very dislikable twat in bed being attacked, the helicopter and the car chase, the fucking film was binned. I like weird stuff but being a Sunday evening I wasn't in the mood for whatever shit this film was supposed to be. Quite possibly the biggest pile of steaming shit I ever wasted my time with. I'd love to know why I might be wrong.

Attended a screening of this one over the weekend, with a discussion and q&a with Todd Field afterwards. Second time I've seen it, but it was pretty powerful with an actual crowd. A couple of shots in the film are just a mile or two down the road from me, so that's always cool to see on the big screen

Quick PSA for anyone considering watching the new Coppola film: Please don't. One of the worst films I've seen, full stop. A complete embarrassment.

So divisive this one. Friend over in Manchester said it reminded him of I, Claudius.

Todd Field followed this American contemporary film with Little Children which was maybe slightly better. In the bedroom has Tom Wilkinson slightly losing it at the end, small town America never felt so small.

heard good things about the substance. also demi moore is mwah

nowhere near as interesting (or fun) as you'd expect with that packaging/marketing. this is just an overly hyped attempt at making this film (with some elements of this one too)

Finally got around to watching Saltburn. I guess the best thing I can say about it is that it wears its influences proudly? Otherwise I was like, what’s the point.

While on a 7 hour flight I finally watched the Dial of Destiny. It somehow managed to be worse than I expected. There's also so much CGI that it reminded me of that Tintin movie. Kind of uncanny valley stuff. And the plot is ridiculous, even for an Indian Jones movie. Meh.

EEEW, RICH PEOPLE ARE GROSS. They're so bad, they do bad things! And they have sick af aesthetics yay! Downton Abbey needed more grave licking. So edgey.

Saltburn was cool, a friend wanted to watch it and I had not much idea what it was other than vague notion of some posh romance/drama stuff and was really pleasantly surprised I must admit.

Talking of spunky female directors uppercutting outta left field how about the Substance?! Probably shouldn't have watched it with somewhat sleep deprivation and overtired but man what a fuckin movie! Long time since I've seen something that really goes for it like this.

WTF did I just watch.

I mean it was really just the Talented Mr Ripley but with some grave fucking. Richard E Grant was cool though, as always.
