  1. 1. Did "minipops 67 [source field mix] meet your expectations?

I think I'm going to have to take a break from checking Syro threads, and maybe WATMM altogether for the next few weeks...

and it's not even necessarily because of opinions here (although it is a contributing reason) but it's because I myself am a bit conflicted with this.

Honestly, I think I shouldn't have even listened to this track at all - it's out of context from the rest of the album, and I personally am a big believer in albums rather than individual tracks.

This is definitely a learning thing for me. I usually don't listen to leaks or preview tracks, and I've broken that rule with 3 fairly recent releases in the past year or so (Tomorrow's Hype, Persistence of Vision, and now Syro). I think I need to stick to not listening to individual tracks out of context, and just be patient for the full experience.

i still remember when you lashed out at me for being cautiously optimistic when p4k ran a story claiming new shit was imminent and boc were in the studio. i was optimistic then, and i'm grateful now. what are you?

I'm listening to other musicians that have taken the torch left behind by BoC and are now running with it. Artists like Pye Corner Audio, VHS Head, 1991, etc.

Guest PolyKrome

This is an amazing track. But what intrigues me is the fact that most of what is on Syro will probably be nearly 10 years old or there . With speculation about him going to release another album soon after Syro, one can only dream of what he has been cooking up over the last few years that will be released on that!!!!

since when did BoC "hand the torch"

since when did I say they had handed anything over?

the "torch" was taken, mate.

It sounds like a more palatable Tuss at first listen, but I don't really know what's going on with it yet, I think I still need to wrap my head around the way it evolves all over the place, it's so dense.

It didn't hinder my expectations of the album but I didn't like it as much as the other two live tracks that were flagged on youtube (Mets and the other one I can't remember). Probably a good introduction for the wave of new ears.

i love it, and if you dont like that i love it fuck off

i welcome diverse opinions. refering to Tomorrow's Harvest as "Tomorrow's Hype" isn't an opinion. i used the word "inane" purposefully.

Heh, you seem to have some sort of superiority complex don't you? I like you oscillik, I think if we met we would find some common ground and get on. But you need to climb down from your mountain top and quit preaching to us.

Preview tracks are no different to 'singles' being released from the good old days. Like when I first heard Don't Believe the Hype and Bring The Noise on late night radio before It Takes a Nation of Millions.....was released. I wasn't shaking with judgment and scorn at being 'soiled' with these 'leaks' lol. I was over the moon to get the chance of hearing them.

This attitude smacks of being spoilt by the internet and at a touch of a button having everything at our fingertips. Once Upon a Fucking Time you would be glad of a so called leak (if you tuned in at the right time). Trust me we are spoilt nowadays. And people should stop moaning about it and realize how lucky they are.

PS I really don't like posting angry threads anymore, it gives me bad vibes. So I'll regret posting this tmrw. It's just how I feel.
