and it's not even necessarily because of opinions here (although it is a contributing reason) but it's because I myself am a bit conflicted with this.

Honestly, I think I shouldn't have even listened to this track at all - it's out of context from the rest of the album, and I personally am a big believer in albums rather than individual tracks.

This is definitely a learning thing for me. I usually don't listen to leaks or preview tracks, and I've broken that rule with 3 fairly recent releases in the past year or so (Tomorrow's Hype, Persistence of Vision, and now Syro). I think I need to stick to not listening to individual tracks out of context, and just be patient for the full experience.

Heh, you seem to have some sort of superiority complex don't you? I like you oscillik, I think if we met we would find some common ground and get on. But you need to climb down from your mountain top and quit preaching to us.

Preview tracks are no different to 'singles' being released from the good old days. Like when I first heard Don't Believe the Hype and Bring The Noise on late night radio before It Takes a Nation of Millions.....was released. I wasn't shaking with judgment and scorn at being 'soiled' with these 'leaks' lol. I was over the moon to get the chance of hearing them.

This attitude smacks of being spoilt by the internet and at a touch of a button having everything at our fingertips. Once Upon a Fucking Time you would be glad of a so called leak (if you tuned in at the right time). Trust me we are spoilt nowadays. And people should stop moaning about it and realize how lucky they are.

PS I really don't like posting angry threads anymore, it gives me bad vibes. So I'll regret posting this tmrw. It's just how I feel.

so I publicly state that I thought it was a bad idea for me to listen to this track, and I'm suddenly having a superiority complex?

fuck off watmm.

see you all next year.

huuuuuu this gone far !

i understand that internet can be a pleasure spoiler for many things,

we all have been spoiled from movies and music because of its intensive promotion, teasers, crazy fans, fakes, leak etc....

this is why i also tend to have a far look on some things and concentrate my neural function to what is official

i'm happy i've heard Minipops, i've listened 5 or 6 times in 24hours, since then, i haven't and i wont until its out

my reel honuest onion? not enough cowebell

it totally blew me away, felt like a little kid. as soon as that beat with the fat bass kicked in i was like: OOOH SHIIIT THE MANCHESTER TRACK'S HERE!!!

great one and there sure are even hotter tracks on this record, can't wait!

Great playlist I've got rotating on spotify:

miniporps

windowlick

flow coma afx remix

great tracks together.

also, oscillik has the world's strongest opinions about shit that doesn't matter. he'll spend post after post complaining about the poor adhesive quality of a sticker or the weight of a cardboard package. pay him no mind. he gets upset about minute details to a degree that most people reserve for things like war, corruption and adultery. he'll stop complaining about this or that in a couple years. pay him no mind until then.

it's actually great when people are so passionate about listening to an album instead of tracks and all that...or passionate about anything for the matter. we need romantic people like that, to show us that there's still magic and sacred left on this cold piece of rock floating in circles around some stupid star. So have a great time, oscillik, and come back to share your thoughts about syro when it'll come out!

Top quality tune. The boy done good.

I keep expecting to hear the "oh yeah" at around 1m 04s in, but never do as this is not the Warehouse Project youtube version that has been so familarly trod. Heard him and Hecker bust this one out out at LEV, and it was spectacular.

Hyped for the album.

osc always catches so much heat but I think he's a good dude. I 100% agree with him about listening to tracks before the album. I think it's just a personal taste thing and nothing more. for me, I can't listen to minipops because I'd totally over-do it and by the time the album came in full, I'd always be starting on track 2 every time and that would drive me crazy. but it's a personal thing, I don't think he's trying to take away anyone's enjoyment of the track at all.

Don't you think your response was a bit harsh and personal?

I can't say I always agree with Oscillik but what's the point of making it personal with him? He's been on the forums for years and his opinions are just his own. Nothing more.

Here's what is the problem with watmm these past few years - too many fanboys taking umbrage at anything else some says. It's not like he even dissed AFX. He was talking about his own musical habits.

watmm is just turning into one total toxic train wreck full of people personally attacking each other. That's not what it should be about at all.

Last week, I commented on Kanye as an artist and yet within seconds I was called a wanker, shallow prick etc. Why are people so defensive? A music forum should be about people expressing their opinions without fear of being hounded away like he has.

I can only imagine what RDJ would think if he ever visited a site like this - just dozens of threads full of people hurling abuse at each other and arguing over nothing. He would hang his head in shame, I reckon.

Since the Syro stuff started, I've blocked so many people it's become a joke.

I understand that people get passionate about artists they love but personally attacking them when they didn't slander you as an individual is mindless nonsense.

But it will never end. That's what watmm has become. No doubt someone will post immediately after this and launch yet another attack on me. But I'm an old guy and at the end of the day and it's just a music forum.

People on here need to be a great deal more tolerant of others. Whatever their opinions might be.

i don't think that osci was complaing/moaning or otherwise actually, he wasn't berating us for still listening to the track, just himself. Just expressing a little personal regret. Sure he is famous for being rather dogged, but i have noticed that he's chilled out lately, so lets not get him too down about stuff n'things.

I'm lucky as far as worn out tracks goes, i only skimmed manchester and the others when they were first mentioned, so i am not in any way shape or form burnt out on those tracks or minipops. I have no intention of listening to this intro track any more really though beyond the 3 times i already have, will wait, till laterrehreh.

lol fumi got in before me. duznt matter though, he's probably blocked me. hah. so won't be able to read meh posting. [-; haw haw. what up fumi, you a bit down on everybody whilst telling them not to be down on everybody. How does that work. Someone has to be buddha/jesus and the holy roast who makes the smile, shakes the first hand, turns the other cheek more. People are just a bit excited now, but i haven't noticed any cruelty (beyond that quick jab at osci), i think that maybe you're having a friday night misapprehension of reality in the negative direction.

maybe, no offence, offers to shake hands, whilst smiling and taking the piss out of himself for being a dweeb that took the time to write this for the sole purpose of love of his fellow wattmrz not matter whom they are.
