I think I'll play some Sly Collection next. They're really cool games. And they're pretty easy to platinum I hear.

in all seriousness, it might be the best video game soundtrack ever made. keep in mind, this is a soundtrack for a PS1 game.

i remember playing this right before I really got into Brian Eno and other ambient maestros....this game may have subconsciously cemented my interest in it forever.

Yeah, as long as the graphics look clean, then it's not so bad. The 2 God Of War Collections are a great example of upscaling. It looks fantastic on my 47" 1080p TV. Very clean. Very enjoyable to have great games available in HD versions. I'm really looking forward to the Metal Gear Solid HD collection. From what I've seen, it's another great example of upscaling.

 

 

 

I'm really close to having the Heavy Rain platinum. Should have it in another hour or so.

That's given me hope, as I really want to play RE4 (never bothered past RE2) as I have read it's easily the best in the series.

Also, the GoW series as well as the MGS series (the HD remakes) I believe use new textures, not upscaled ones. I might have misread that somewhere though.

yeah me too, that was great. There are a bunch of trophies to get that I didn't even realize were possible. So I'm defninitely going to replay it. I've also been playing RE4 on ps3. Fucking awesome. I forgot how much fun it is. I can't wait to finally finish it. I played the first 3 games and they have always been some of my favorites.

That's true about the retexturing. Especially with the origins game since it would have looked terrible. The only thing that was done wrong were some of the cutscenes in the 1st god of war collection. Anyways, you won't be dissapointed with RE4's upscaling, especially if you haven't played the game yet(definitely best in the series, and I haven't beaten it yet, the controls are just much much better). It looks really nice on HD, nothing offensive about it, just some smoothed out stretched out textures that look fine. Plays really smoothly and perfectly. Can't wait for the MGS games, did you play those on ps2 joyrex? My favorite series.

fucking cvhrist Chrono Cross freezes everytime I get up to a certain point, appears to be a firmware failure. i thought this was the fucking future UGH. im gonna play all games from pc emulators from now on. i get less and less joy out of each subsequent system i purchase.

the same, Darrow's "truth". I didn't really agree with how it turned out though, the closing montage/monologue was too anti-technology for me. I was confused by the word "truth", I thought it would be a straight account of what happened at the Panchaea facility and elsewhere. So I didn't pick Sarif and Taggart's messages, which seemed more propagandist and slanted towards blaming the other side.

 

My actual personal opinion would be closer to Taggart's tbh: caution and regulation but not total banishment of biotech. I reloaded my save and did all the endings though, in order of preference: Darrow, Taggart, Sarif, self-destruct. Apparently the final monologue can vary depending on your actions throughout the game.

 

Yeah, the dialogue changed based on whether you killed hostiles/ reasoned with bosses or not, from my understanding. I went almost entirely nonlethal (except for the final area cuz I just wanted to get to the end at that point) and Jensen's dialogue reflected that. Made me quite happy.

It's probably just my poor english skills... But I have a really hard time figuring out whats going on in Deus Ex: HR half the time. Maybe that's also the reason I find it quite boring at times

Doom 3, Left 4 Dead 2, Final Fantasy 4 and soon to be playing Diablo 2 for the first time. All the hype for the new one has made me want to go back to the famous one.

Sarif is an ass. I'd have sided with him out of loyalty except the guy is clearly involved in bad shit and is willing to sell you out for a certain price. Also Megan's a bitch. I hope Adam doesn't die in the canonical storyline, I want to continue his story.

 

Re choice of lethal or nonlethal, it pretty much depended on who I was up against. I was lethal in the first mission against Purity First, but went nonlethal for sidequests. However after Malik's death (I couldn't save her in the ambush and stopped trying after a couple of reloads) I went round massacring BTs and Harvesters wherever I could find them. I really wanted to kill Tong given that Malik's body was lying cut open in the next room, it annoyed me that I couldn't take revenge for that.

I agree. There is way to much to take in. I'm going to stop reading all those emails. Most of them are just a waste of time.

Yes. Sarif can be a bit confusing. But when you talk to him, always use 'refocus' conversation option, because he's always trying to change the subject. That's what I've experienced so far.

Yeah, and you'll start reading the same emails over again eventually. I just skimmed them and if i saw anything that looked important (patrol patterns, character names, etc), then I would read them. I think I wanna play through again and be a complete cock to Sarif as much of the time as I can....

And man, conversations in this game seemed to jump around a bit in a very nonsensical way. They were really hard to follow at points, even though I read all the dialogue.

Yes. Also all those social enhancer augments are confusing as hell. There's like 4 menus in each corner you have to keep an eye on, throughout a conversation, while you have to listen what they say.

But I actually enjoy the some of the combat stuff. Especially the stealth (i'm a sucker for stealth games). But sad that the A.I. is really poor.

Social enhancement augment... I got it, used it for a conversation, had no idea what any of it meant, and reloaded to get it off my screen. AI was tragically bad, but Stealth was a blast though. Nothing quite like doing an invisible takedown on an unwary guard.

Did you ever use the PEPS gun?

Yes I have the PEPS gun in my inventory, very awesome weapons. But I don't use it a whole lot, since it's not very stealthy.

It's all about the stun gun for me.

For real though...Deus Ex:HR was fantastic. It has been a while since i got that into a game.
