dead island i'm not convinced by. is their a demo?

There's lots of great games on PSN as well... try Outland, or Limbo - great little games. Resistance 3 is out as well.

Continuing with my back catalog, I finished Bulletstorm on Sunday morning. In the later half of the game the story gets slightly more interesting, the characters get slightly less annoying, but the gun fights get a lot better. The last "boss" fight was underwhelming. Solid 7/10 game IMHO.

With my "warm up" game out of the way, the next game I decided to tackle in my catalog is Bioshock. Lack of finishing this game, in particular, has haunted me for a while. I've started it at least 3 times on 2 different consoles, each time giving up at about the time I get to Arcadia (the plant level). With Bioshock Infinite coming out "soon", I really want to at least give Bioshock 1 a try.

So I popped this guy in last night and stepped into Rapture. I have to admit, I still have many complaints overall about the gameplay but it might be that it doesn't jive well with me specifically. Here they are if you care:

So far I'm at chapter 9/16. I've opted to "rescue" the little sisters that I've managed to come across, I've taken far more pictures this time around, and finally learnt to constantly switch weapons and plasmids on the fly (mass effect style). Arcadia was at chapter 6 so I've gotten past the point where I failed before. I'm guessing I didn't notice how you have to pick goals from the map window (you have to pick up ingredients for some Lazarus Vector which requires you to select them from the menu for the first time with updates your navigation arrow). Needless to say, I'm enjoying myself a bit more, but my aim is still to just finish it.

FIFA - at 3700 points now :emotawesomepm9:)

Red Orchestra 2 beta - this is quite a refreshing shooter. And a lot of people that suck at it in this phase.

Big daddies come back after a lil sister is saved/harvested, meaning they respawn, and if the sister is already gone, they mournfully check the slots for em but moan when they don't come out. So it may not be a bug, you may have just overlooked something, or are killing the same big daddy.

Ahh, good to know. I have seen Big Daddies walk around however, then knock on the wall, and a little sister comes out. If I kill that big daddy before they summon the little sister out of the hole, will another big daddy spawn?

There are only so many little sisters in each area. You've already got them all in the area so no more are showing up.

In the prologue of Dead Island when it has you running away from 3 Level 50 Infected zombies. There is a magic door to the left side you can hide in and beat the crap out of the zombies from behind.

Yeah think im going to skip dead island, after watching gameplay youtubes I was pretty bored already. It looks like a pc game. Dont really like games where u see only your hands, or at least I havent played one I liked.

So what is out soon? Uncharted3...

I need to renew my playstation magazine subsciption as I am out of the loop

All this talk of scurry stuff reminds me I gotsta finish Amnesia.

i hear ya...makes me wanna replay FEAR2 and the Silent Hill series....i never got farther than a few hours in Homecoming though..the battle system was pretty annoying.

it has a lot of "BOO" shit your pants moments, but nothing deeply disturbing. but the atmosphere is great. reminds me a lot of dead space actually.

i just got out of the police station in deus ex. im way far behind everyone else so i decided to fire up a new game and get to the point where i am in adam jensens office with a couple praxis kits, so i can start harvesting the infinite xp glitch there. went downstairs and got 12 nuke softwares off of hacking a door using the same glitch. gonna go back this evening and glitch up the xp using adam jensen's computer then quickload my other save that is after the police station, hack a door with that save then all the xp will transfer

Yeah, I read about that... but by the end of the game, I had around six unused Praxis points playing legit, so I don't see the point... there's always a way to do things without augs, they just make it easier/fun... especially Icarus kit and the jump augs.

Anyone else find most of the augments to be utterly uselss, though? Mark/track, most of the hacking augs and all of the move silently augments are complete wastes.

Nice, I'll have to check it out then. I'm all about atmosphere in my games.

I as well just finished Deus Ex: HR last night. I beat it on Give Me Deus Ex difficulty. It wasn't too hard as I was doing everything stealth and without killing anyone. The only parts where I had trouble were the boss fights. Fedorova for example can one shot you easily.

God of War Origins Collection should be coming in the mail sometime today. Can't wait to play it.

im doing the xp glitch cause i want to finish deus ex, one because im way behind, two because i want to play dead island but i want to finish this first.

I would wait for the patches before playing Dead Island... I just encountered a game-breaking glitch and had to restart ten hours or so in. I loaded up my save and ended up in the city, and I hadn't been there yet. I couldn't open any doors or interact with npcs, and there was apparently no way out of the city otherwise. I could kill zombies and repair weapons though, so I did get about two hours of fun out before I got frustrated and turned it off.
