the table is knee high because it was a shit venue. it was at a museum where they don't usually have shows and it was in a big empty room so the acoustics were bad. and the power got cut off twice and i'm pretty sure the first time was my fault lol the chord was held into the wall by a plastic cup with tape over it and i think i hit it with my foot or somethin. just a bad venue and an all around awkward show but it was cool to hear some new material.

i like the fact that dmt is getting more popular. it's like the LSD of the 2000's.. it's waking people up and showing them that there truly is more to life than meets the eye

is it tho? most people I've met who've done it didn't have much to say about it...it just got put somewhere in the mental file cabinet along with other weird experiences (not going to blame them tho, I can't say I've done much more with it). I don't think it can be culturally digested enough to be the lsd of the 2000's. Maybe right now it is hip to throw around the word DMT, and maybe clubkids/druggies/hepcats & what have u can get access to it, but from what I can gather it just gets regulated to the 'woah trippy mindfuck' category of things.

I like the song, I am 100% i heard it in a daedelus liveset.

New track featuring Erykah Badu and Pre-order

WOW, that track sounded exactly like the direction I was hoping flying lotus & friends would move in. I am truly pleased.

Guess I'm the only one not digging that cover...

No, I hate it so far. Especially as the last two albums looked so good. I'm with jules and sidewinder; I also love how all (I think?) of his Warp releases have front covers sans text (if you remove the stickers). Cosmogramma was especially impressive, I thought.

It's the music that really counts though and I'm looking forward to this album, the Erykah Badu track sounds very promising. Pre-ordered the snazzy vinyl version and the Japan CD.

Not super stoked on the See Through To U track, I listened to it a few times to see if it would grow on me, but I'm not going to listen to it so much that I always skip it when I play the LP. So far it seems pretty barren melodically, I dunno kinda boring, I like the drums but I always like the drums on Fly Lo tracks, still it doesn't make me wanna break my neck, not very trippy or nice to me. I love most of Cosmogramma but I agree that LA is a better album. I was way more impressed when I heard.. for instance on a relevative level... Clark's Secret on Iradelphic. Way more impressive than this. And people were hating on most of Iradelphic.

This. Does anyone else think his best tracks are the ones that are clearly hip hop, and then Disco Balls? They have more vibe and groove than any of his other songs. I hope this song isn't an indication of what most of the album is going to be like.

It's just one track.

It might sound completely different in the context of the album. I know this sounds cliché, but there is always this discussion about upcoming records.

Just wait for the whole thing

edit: for some reason, now that i have listened to this new track, the artwork seems to fit the atmosphere. i kind of imagine a lady oracle popping up in front of me

upon about 20 more listens I have to say that due to the track's length it probably is an intro or something, because it fizzles out as soon as it develops.

Apparently it's not the full song:

which is even better.

I have high hopes for the successor of Cosmogramma. FlyLo isn't the type of musician that gets stuck in a comfortable formula. He is courageous as an artist and that sure comes as a reward later

this is my main problem with flylo. Too many ideas, not enough room to breathe.

I like his delvings into jazzier inspiration as well, but man do I love his earlier more hip-hop inspired sound. Disco Balls is an awesome track, There was a while a couple years ago where I had the Hyperdub 5 Year compilation in my car, and that song always seemed to be the song it was on when I started my car up. Driving around blasting that song just makes you feel awesome.

Really not liking the cover here, also... don't like the image or the text. Doesn't really seem to match his usual style... but I haven't heard the album yet - maybe it matches the music

The track is pretty good, but I'm hoping it'll get better once put into album context.

He said on his Twitter that the album was made as a whole so yeah, that track should be a lot better within the album's full context. It does sound kind of weird tho, and the way Thundercat plays the bass is way TOO reminiscent of Cosmogramma imo...

I have noticed this too. But i think FlyLo is not the type of musician that gets stucked in static and comfortable formulas for a long time.

Some people here don't seem to like the artwork, but i find it pretty fascinating, and it is, for me, the sign that FlyLo will bring something different. Of course whithin certain trademark elements. I love his fusion of very physical, warm, almost tribal like percussion, with a more contemporary vibe to it, and Thundercat's bass from another galaxy. Also Erykah Badu perfoms quite some great vocals. The whole track feels like an ancient ritual.

Everything here was already suggested or explored in Cosmogramma, but maybe we will get a different atmosphere with the new record.

Who knows...

Yeah, good to hear him say (on twitter)...

"The single sounds so strange out of context. I really intended for #untilthequietcomes to be a linear piece of music."

and "If and when u get #untilthequietcomes save it for when u have time to listen to it all the way thru. It all flows together."

Really looking forward to it!

I once was a Flylo fan, in a galaxy far far away.

Until 2 reasons: 1: Every interview I listened / read about him he says that created experimental hip-hop beats. And that EVERYONE is jacking off of him. And he's so proud about what he created. F*ck off dude.

2: Collaborating with Odd Future now regularly.

When did he ever say that?

One collaboration. Also, your reasons are shallow.
