Go on make some more shit up, so someone else can make some more shit up in retort. Dont really know why youre dealing in dignity, when I was agreeing with some of what you said. But, as I implied in the last post, its either all or nothing eh?

I'm still trying to figure out in what context your previous post makes any sense whatsoever. I don't even know what side it is on. I can't tell what sentences are trying to mock other people and what sentences are actually your opinion. This is probably a formatting issue but I'm still really fucking confused.

these sentences in particular:

- "Most games wouldnt be made for the PC is it wasnt for consoles"

- "Consoles dont have enough ram to make anything other than 10 minute windows of fun."

are these actually your opinion or are they examples of people making shit up? right before that you say: "L4D2 worked no problem on the PC. I could have bought 2 xboxes for the cost of my GPUs." is this you talking or are you trying to mock other posts? I'd like to give you the benefit of the doubt and assume which of these are actually your view but it is formatted so unclearly that i really can't say.

I bought half life complete today

Needed to. Finished Portal 2 twice and am craving a revisiting of the valve universe.

Im'a go and get Portal 2 today. And maybe something else. Got myself £130 of HMV vouchers burning a hole and all the music I want they don't ever seem to have.

:doge: Jet fuel can't melt dank memes :doge:

If you've got a console and you like fighting games I can HIGHLY recommend Mortal Kombat. Been playing it a crazy amount the last couple of days, can't believe how good it is!

It's the best MK since 2, probably better than 2 to be honest. The fighting engine is great, it's absurdly violent, there's so much content in the game it's unreal. IE: It's a fighting game worth dropping some buck on.

To be fair though, fighting games don't really work on PC, I'm not too surprised there isn't a PC version.

Console vs PC is the new East Coast vs West Coast

currently playing GTA IV - awesome radio stations as always but I'm a little disappointed by the graphics and lighting. They could have put more effort in, it doesn't really look better than San Andreas to be honest. Not making use of the PS3 hardware at all. And most outdoor areas are poorly lit and there's no dynamic light adjust so often you walk around in way too dark places. And the controls are terrible, especially hand-to-hand-combat. Shame.

Refused classification in Australia  I was so looking forward to this. I've been an MK fan since MK1 on the Sega Genesis, it's probably my favourite fighting game ever. I do get some vicarious pleasure out of hearing that others are enjoying it though.

I seem to remember reading that there are some really good strides towards having more mature games released in Australia, so chin up!

It's a shame you can't play it now though, I've been hammering it HARD for the last few days almost non stop. The story mode is awesome, obviously it's a stupid MK storyline, but really well done. I think this might be the best fighting game I've ever played.

god damn 18+ game ban in australia, total contradictory bullshit >:\

(contradictory as in, they set rules/laws as to not release 18+ games. then, due to demand or whatever, they end up release 'toned down' versions of 18+ games in australia anyway, but with the next best thing rating. so what you get is games which should really be rated as R 18+, but released as MA 15+. and then for the games that aren't released in australia, peeps just download or import anyway. so like, how the fuck does that work? what's the point in making such a big fuss over violence in videogames if it means a backwards rating systems where 18+ are released and rated as 15+. fucken, australian government. i swear.)

so what, does that mean mortal kombat isn't released in australia?

what's stopping me from importing it from overseas. isn't the PS3 regionlock free. does having imported games matter (as far as DLC/updates goes?

alright, im buying the ps3 fallout new vegas...i cant wait any longer....i know its buggy as hell, but theres no way my POS computer can support the PC version...i couldn't even get Bioshock to run a few years back.

i played san andreas recently and it plays/looks like an old shitty atari game. it's really surprising how quickly ps2 games have aged.

Just looked at a Let's Play of it. It does look a little worse than I remembered. But there must have been a reason I didn't see much of a difference. In the footage from the Let's Play I also immediately noticed the much better sense for color and - as I said - lighting they showed there. In that way it actually does look nicer to me. It's the first time I agree with that statement of Yahtzee about how he hates the new "realistic brown" recent games introduced and that they need to get back to a more colorful fun design. It doesn't rule out realism imo. Having slightly exaggerated colors can help representing the atmosphere of a place that would otherwise be impossible to capture in a limited field of view and on a screen.

Anyway, I am only at the very beginning of GTA IV and haven't seen very much, but to me it made sense to assume the developers don't put all the shitty stuff at the start. Graphically, it's a 2008 game but it could have done a lot better. It's at the very edge to being embarrassing for a PS3 game. Uncharted came out in 07 and it looks much better.

I'm not usually a graphics-fanatic but it's sad cause I know how talented those Rockstar guys are. It's a waste of potential, it would only have needed more balls to put some more extraordinary lights here and some more bump maps there etc. Looks like it was rushed to release or a shitty multi-platform-compromise. But I will get over all that. The controls, however ...
