Video Games What video games are you currently playing?

I just saw a Wii to (150$, 95£). Should I buy it?

if you want a new dust collecting device then certainly yes

But everbody says the Super Mario Galaxy games should be so good. I really want to try Super Smash Brothers and a Zelga games agian. Haven't had a Nintendo since N64, which i loved. I was excited about the Wii U, before I saw it at E3. I'm defiently not going to buy that thing at any point.

I just can't decide. But it's really cheap.. so...

theyre not worth it, there is no multiplayer replay value and zelda twilight princess is a huge disappointment , mario galaxy is good but not good enough to warrant spending 150 dollars to play

You should just head round car boot sales if you're after a Wii. The amount of people who are selling all they own for a pittance is amazing. The Wii seems to be a favourite unused Xmas present. I saw one the other day for £40.

Bought Super Mario Galaxy and SSBB with it. Super Smash Brothers is just as fun as remembered it. Galaxy is also great.. makes me feel like a kid again, which is great.

So when the Wii U comes out, the old Wii games will be in HD when they are played on the Wii U?

They might look a little better, like how the Wii made GC games look slightly better.

just beat portal 2, holy hell that was one of the best games ive ever played. not too easy, not too hard, incredibly well written, loved the ending

the voice acting was incredible, i love stephen merchant and i could honestly listen to jk simmons make fun of eggheads all day long.

I starting to play red dead redemption for the first time. If you have any suggestions on how to approach playing the game let me know. I'm trying to take it slow, absorb the scenery, talk to strangers, shoot animals and pick herbs. Is it bad to be completely evil in the game? Like can I just live with a bounty the whole time and just kill people and fuck shit up or should I try to be good? Does it effect the game experience too much? Every once in a while I just completely blow random encounters and stranger missions by accidentally aiming my gun at npcs who proceed to get law enforcement involved and then force me to run away for like, miles. Also is there any way to change my main horse or is that something I unlock later, like right now I have a stallion that I wrangled during that mission for bonnie, but I don't know if I can go out in the wild and find something better or what. Please no spoilers but if anybody has general tips to keep in mind let me know. Fun game so far.

Started playing Far Cry 2 again. There's something about that game that just makes me love it so much. Should really play Portal 2 till the end as well.

It doesn't affect anything apart from a few perks here and there, but it's a lot more fun to be good. You'll get plenty of opportunities to fuck shit up. Also, just play it as you please. There's no reason to rush through the game or to do anything in a specific order.

I never knew you could softmod the wii, I thought you needed a special chip in order to read the dvds because of the way they are encoded to be read in reverse? If oyu softmod does it only work with games on the HD or does it play burned wii titles on disc too?

depends on how old the wii is, although i think any wii can still use USB, just not DVDR for newer ones.

Baller, was already planning on getting SNES9X and I got WiiMC too. Checked out a game called Still Alive that's a 2d Portal Clone, pretty fun. I also tried Duck Hunt but the sound was fucked and just glitched the whole time lol. Looking forward to checking out more when I get back home tonight :sup:

What kind of stuff can I do with that wad manager? I think I read stuff like use different textures in games etc, but shit... Seems like more than I would care to do lol.

Infamous 2 - Took about 7 or 8 hours of game play to complete it... sucks really only took me one weekend to do it, suppose i shall have to re-do it as evil now, dont think its as good as the first one

Derp, that's how I can load disc images from USB innit?

usb loader is for loading images from usb, wad manager is for installing wad files. which are basically the files dlc come as. so like, add ons for games, virtual console stuff, nintendo store games, etc. if you have priiloader or something (you should if you followed most tutorials for softmodding) you can set your console to play dlc from any country and explore the whacky world of japanese dlc. some of those games, i just don't even know. there was one where you like... punch a cow and then hitchhike. just weird stuff.

To me, a WAD will always be a Doom map.
