Oh man, I think I've mentioned on WATMM before, but I had 6 Golden Coins on the Gameboy about 15+ years ago. I never completed it as a kid, but I revisited it a few years ago. I finally got in Wario's castle, and then through it (which wasn't actually that hard). I stomped Wario for the last time, he tumbled, and then Mario got caught in a glitchy-block in the top right corner.

15+ years and when I finally beat the game it glitched.

Great game though.

Earthbound on the SNES (well, on my phone). It's surprisingly hard, and at times not that clearly sign posted where you're meant to go, but I'm really enjoying the style of it.

I haven't eaten a Wagon Wheel since 07/11/07... ilovecubus.co.uk - 25ml of mp3 taken twice daily.

I was trying to hold out til I could finish HL2e2 on a better system, but I finished it yesterday on my laptop, massive slowdowns and all.

Now I'm fucking depressed.

It's a fantastic game. Hope you have fun with it. I still have to go and 100% the campaign. It's this game that has me exited for LA Noire.

witcher 2, this ones easily wipes the floor with "dragon ages" and the like. the combat is challenging, the dialogue is mature, the characters are lifelike, the cutscenes are effective and very well put together rather than annoying, and it features some of the most jawdrapping visuals i've ever witnessed (wish i had a better rig to max it out). and im just less than 2 hours in.

what will happen in the future ,i think, is that pcs will simply become as portable as current consoles and the gaming consoles will have no good reason to exist, there are already gaming notebooks which you can plug easily into your tv and plug some consolish controllers if you wish, but those are just too expensive at this point.

I'm guessing it'll pretty much be a future variant of one of these things -

This pretty much ignores the point of having seperate handheld and console systems. It's going to be a long time before technology is so good that size won't be a limitation on processing power. Handheld systems will get better, and consoles will get better, not eliminated (not until cloud gaming takes off)

I've always thought the PC game industry should develop a hardware platform (and make it either a breakout box or a PCI card) with a set of standards and make PC games for that - essentially a console, but due to the unified architecture, no more sub-par experiences for users whose hardware doesn't meet the minimum standards.

There would be no point. Computers are already processing/graphics units, why sell them an entirely redundant graphics/processing

device that is essentially a whole new computer. Why not just duct tape your xbox to your macbook and call it a PC gaming revolution.

Cloud gaming is the future.

PS3/Xbox controller(s) via blu tooth wireless usb in to a nice computer solves this war, imo. you still have to tweak the computer some but that's the price of glory.

wow that sounds awesome. Is it necessary to play witcher 1 first to fully understand it?

I won't be getting LA Noire 'til next week, and then I'm in Spain for a few days, so I'm gonna have to wait almost two weeks. Boo. Looks great though.

I might, hopefully, be wrong. Looks like Zavvi got their stock yesterday so perhaps I'll have it on the 20th.
